Last Post before Vacay

Last day before vacation is always a busy one.  And it is of course once again raining in New York.  I’m pretty sure God wants me to really appreciate the warm Mexican weather, that’s why it has been super crappy here all week long.

I woke up this morning still craving pancakes, so the only thing I could do was succumb to my craving and make some cake batter pancakes.  There are probably the best thing I’ve ever eaten for breakfast, probably not the best thing for you but soooo delish!

After breakfast it was time for cleaning.  My house has been a total disaster since I got back from Philly on Monday.  Between packing and unpacking there were clothes everywhere.  After the house was spic and span, I went to get my nails done.  I used to get a mani almost every week, but I really think I enjoy doing my nails myself a lot more than getting them done.  If I didn’t have a gift certificate I got for Christmas, I probably wouldn’t have gone at all. My nails are now a super cute shade of yellow, which I think will look even better when I get a bit of a tan.

I also went to the post office where there magically was no line.  The line is always out the door when I go there.  I think the rain scared people away.  

For dinner I made myself a huge salad with grilled chicken.  It was really good.  There’s nothing better than avocado in a salad.

I also got to talk to my boyfriend on Skype, which totally made my day! I miss him like crazy.

After my mom got home, she dragged me to Marshall’s with her.  I never thought I’d say this, but I think I’m done shopping for a long time.  I’ve been to more stores and malls this past week than probably in months before.  I didn’t get anything, the only section that I checked out was the toys and I got this super cool book/puzzle for munchkin. 

Now that it’s almost midnight I’m really wondering if it’s worth going to sleep for less than four hours.  My flight is at 6:45AM so we have to be at the airport before 5AM.  Why is my family so masochistic? I’m not sure what the internet situation will be once I get to Mexico.  There are conflicting reports of the cost of WiFi and where it’s available.  I’ll try to check in a few times, but it might be a week until a real post appears.  Have a great weekend!
