Last night, after the boyfriend got off from work we decided to go to the beach. After making it into Rockaway, we decided we wanted food and boyfriend suggested we go to Nathan’s since we were fairly close, and I had never been there before.
The lines were super long and I now know why. I had a chili cheese dog for the first time in my life and it was real good. I took a picture, but its one of those foods that tastes a lot better than it looks so I’ll spare you the view. After we ate, we walked around the boardwalk for a bit. Munchkin could not get over all the bright light and rides. He’s going to be one adventure loving guy when he gets older.
This morning we slept in a little bit because we got to bed late last night, by munchkin standards. We had some fruit for breakfast and headed outdoors to help my dad plant flowers in our garden. Munchkin loves digging in the dirt and even made some attempts to eat it. After the boyfriend got back from biking with his buddies, we get to the Long Island City piers. I hadn’t been there since they opened up the new stretch of park. The new playground is really awesome and munchkin had a blast. We also got to lounge of the cool lounge chairs my the water and enjoy the views. But alas this is where my poor sand fell prey to the evil splinter.

He tried to eat that stick about 12 times. |
After we had enough running around and exploring, we headed over to the supermarket to pick up some things to have our first BBQ of the season. I love everything off the grill. Its such a fast and easy way to make tasty and healthy food. We made some chicken marinaded it Lemon Pepper and Garlic Marinade. It was soo good. We also roasted some red potatoes, peppers and asparagus to enjoy along side our chicken. So good, so quick and totally hit the spot.
Get it! You won’t regret it! |
After dinner we went to Sports Authority to buy fancy laundry detergent when I saw these babies and I knew I had to have them.
I’ve been wanting to get back into running for a while now, but I didn’t have proper running shoes. I have no excuse now and I’m more excited than ever.
