Since my aunt and uncle were coming over in the afternoon, we decided to have a little BBQ for dinner. My dad grilled up some chicken and sausage and I made Greek Salad Orzo. This is basically the same recipe as the Greek Pasta Salad I made, but instead of rotini, I used orzo. I have to say that I think I prefer the orzo version of the salad because the pasta doesn’t overpower the other flavors.
After dinner, we decided it was time for haircuts. We have been looking for a good barber that does both kid’s and adult haircuts with no luck. Tommy did some research and found a place with great reviews in Brooklyn. Unfortunately, when we got there we were informed that the guy is on vacation. But we were told he is great with kid’s haircuts because he has his own little boy whose hair he cuts.
But out of all disappointments come good things. Across the street from the barber, we found Verde Yogurt Shoppe.
It is the first self serve frozen yogurt place I’ve come across near us and they had really unique flavors like red velvet and carrot cake.
We all shared a huge cup of fro yo consisting of red velvet, carrot cake and cookies and cream topped with rainbow sprinkles, strawberries and graham cracker crumbs. It was soo good. We will definitely be hitting this place up again post haircut next week.
We got home and hit the sack pretty early. Munchkin even went to sleep without much protest, which is a rarity as of late, so I had time to waste time on Pinterest. I found some inspiration for new recipes to try out next week and I can’t wait.
Have a great Friday everyone!
