If you walk down the aisles of a supermarket, I can almost guarantee that many of the foods on the shelves that is there today weren’t there when you were a kid. Food fads change very often, but the things that remain the same are the wholesome foods that you can remember eating as a kid. For me, one of these things is Honey Maid Graham Crackers. One of my best childhood memories is roasting marshmallows on the stove with my cousin to make indoor s’mores (we grew up in New York City, we had to make it work). Now that I have a son of my own, I am always trying to share things from my childhood with him, and s’mores made with Honey Maid Graham Crackers are definitely one of them. I love that they are made with whole grain and don’t contain any high fructose corn syrup. They are a delicious, wholesome snack that I can feel good about sharing with him. Earlier this summer, my fiancé and I took our son camping for the first time. I was caught off guard when my son asked if we could go camping one afternoon as I was driving him home from school. He’s only four and he had never been camping, so naturally I asked him if he really knew what camping was. When he told me that it’s when you sleep outside and make s’mores. He was so right, that we just couldn’t say no. A few weeks later, we arrived at the campground, car full of gear and not much of an idea of what to do with all of it. I had been camping a few times before, but I was never in charge of putting up the tent or any important stuff like that. My fiancé and I attempted to assemble the tent and our first attempt looked something like this. Who knew that all the poles were of different lengths? After a few tries, we got it up just as it began to storm. We were worried that our tent would float away, but all through the storm, my son peered out of the tent and asked will we still be able to make s’mores tonight? Luckily, the storm passed and we were able to have a great, s’more filled weekend in the wilderness. Honey Maid is more than just plain graham crackers. They make lots of different snacks that are sure to please the pickiest eater and as a parent, you feel good giving your children a wholesome snack. Our pantry is always stocked with Grahamfuls and Teddy Grahams, in addition to plain graham crackers. Grahamfuls are one of my favorite to go snacks for my son because they are individually wrapped and I can toss one in my purse for him to enjoy when we are out and about. The best part about all the Honey Maid products? The smiles they produce.
