I know I’m not alone in saying this, but after wearing pants to work all week, the last thing I want to do on the weekend is put on pants yet again! While I would happily spend the weekends in my pajamas, it’s just not realistic and I have to emerge into society at least once in a while. Luckily, I have discovered the best weekend mom uniform – the ultimate comfy weekend dress paired with this  gorgeous 7 Charming Sisters Marble accent necklace. Effortless, but still put together.

I saw the dress on a mannequin and as soon as I touched it to feel the fabric, I was sold. It is the softest material that I have ever felt in a dress from Loft.

I paired the dress with the Peace of Mind necklace from 7 Charming Sisters because, to be honest, I am kind of obsessed with the necklace and have been wearing it with basically everything. Marble is super trendy right now, and I love how it makes even the simplest of outfits look put together and stylish.

If you’re not familiar with 7 Charming Sisters, they are an online jewelry boutique run by 7 ladies with totally different styles. You can take a style quiz and get matched to one of the sisters or just shop around by the different categories. I took the quiz and got matched to Melissa, the Super Mom and actually loved all of the pieces that were in her category. The Super Mom collection gives “outfits a pop of colour without calling for attention, so you can continue being the superwoman that you are – and look good while doing it!”

What is your go to weekend outfit?

7 Charming Sisters provided me with the necklace for review. All opinions, as always, are my own.

Unless you’re living under a rock, you’ve probably seen all the cute patterned leggings popping up all over social media lately. I first discovered LuLaRoe on Instagram and I wanted to try out these buttery soft leggings everyone was talking about. Since LuLaRoe is only available through an independent consultant or a Facebook group, I turned to my feed and connected with Hannah, the LuLa Little Lady. When we started talking and realized that we only lived a few minutes away from each other, I knew our LuLaRelationship was meant to be! Hannah was gracious enough to give me my first outfit to review, but has since made me a bit of a LuLaRoe addict!

I met Hannah in Brooklyn to pick up my order from her and the first thing I did was tear it open to feel the material. When they say buttery soft, they are not lying. These are the softest leggings I’ve even touched and the softness doesn’t disappear after the first wash like so many other brands. Even though I went safe with my first order and got solid black leggings, I have since jumped on the pattern train. If you find a pattern you like, make sure to scoop it up because LuLaRoe typically only makes about 2,500 pieces a pattern among all sizes. There are tons of ladies all over the world looking for their LuLaRoe unicorns that they let slip through their fingers the first time around.

If the softness wasn’t enough to get me hooked, the sizing on LuLaRoe leggings is so simple, but perfect. Leggings only come in two sizes – One Size which fits sizes 2-10 and Tall & Curvy which fits sizes 12-22. I don’t know how they do it, but the leggings fit perfectly! And they are long enough that I don’t look like I’m wearing high waters which is a BIG DEAL when you are over 6 feet tall.

LuLaRoe is best known for their leggings, but they actually have a full line of women’s clothing from shirts, dresses, skirts and cardigans ranging from size 00-26. The shirt I am wearing in the pictures is the Perfect Tee and it lives up to it’s name. I loved it so much that I’ve already purchased it in two other colors/patterns. I am also a huge fan of my Carly dress, which is a high low swing dress that pairs perfectly with leggings. LuLaRoe also makes men’s and children’s clothing and Alex has been begging me to get him pants as soft as my leggings.

If you want to try LuLaRoe for yourself (you can thank me later) head over to Hannah’s Facebook Group and follow her on Instagram! She has sales up on a weekly basis and if you’re lucky, you will be able to catch her hubby live streaming and serenading shoppers during her sales.

Hannah provided me with my first LuLaRoe outfit for review. All other pieces were purchased by me. All opinions, as always, are my own.

If there is one thing I love about this summer’s trends it is all the bright neons. Any store you go into, you can get blinded by the clothes on the hangers, but I absolutely love it! If you watch almost any of my YouTube videos, you can see that I am totally into the trend because I am wearing something neon in almost every video I’ve made lately.

While I spared you of having to look at me attempt to model my clothes, I put together some outfits that are very close to things I have been wearing lately.

yellow

Tommy told me that I could get a job as an air traffic controller with these shorts, but I love them. I pair them with a neutral top, usually black or white and with my favorite sandals and my little cross-body bag. I have downsized from my huge purse that I use during the school year, and I don’t miss it one bit. pink

Another way I love wearing neons is with denim. I have a bunch of really bright tops and they go perfect with my denim shorts and capris.

workout

Neons made their way into my workout clothes also. If you check my McCarren 5k or my #FitBlogNYC post you can see my absolute favorite neon workout top. Added bonus, when you’re running at night, you are visible to oncoming traffic!

To keep my neons bright for a long time I always make sure to wash them with my trifecta – Tide, Downy and Bounce. For as long as I can remember, my mom has been using Tide, so using it was basically bred into me. Using all three products together leaves my clothes, like my little man says, fresh and clean. Tide removes even the most difficult stains and Downy and Bounce leave my clothes soft and smelling great. You can’t beat these three products, they are just better together!

Since we woke up to sunny blue skies, Munchkin and I decided to head out to the park after breakfast and take advantage of quite possibly one of the last warm summerish days of the year.  We had a great time running around, climbing, swinging and going down the slides.

We had a very successful shopping day yesterday.  We didn’t make it to all the stores that I was hoping, but I got almost everything I needed at Target and TJ Maxx. On our way out the door, the weather started to take a turn for the worst. We had to run through the Target parking lot to make it into the store before it started monsooning.

I finally found a pair of boots at TJ Maxx. They’re just plain black suede boots, but for $35 they were a steal. They are also super comfy which is a must for me.

I got some good stuff at Target, as well.  I spotted this shirt dress and knew it had to be mine.

I also grabbed some fall decorations from the dollar section.  These pumpkins were only $2.50 each. I also got some decorations to put up in front of the house, which I’m planning on doing this weekend.

For lunch/dinner I made a chicken veggie stir fry.  I had a bunch of veggies in the fridge that needed to be eaten and a stir fry was a super easy way to use em all.

I served the stir fry over Uncle Ben’s Long Grain and Wild Rice.  It was the first time that I bought this rice, but I will definitely be repurchasing because it was very good.

Now that Munchkin is napping the afternoon away, I need to do some cleaning. We are heading out to Long Island tonight for dinner at Minado’s.  We are meeting up for dinner with Tommy’s cousins and their baby girl, Arianna.

We have some big plans this weekend and they involve boats and pumpkins, weather permitting.

What are your plans for the weekend?
What’s the last ‘steal’ purchase you made?

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a great weekend because I know I did!

We started the weekend very deliciously, with some sushi. It had been almost two weeks since we went out for sushi, which I’m pretty sure is some kind of record. Munchkin is liking sushi more and more as he gets older.  Its pretty funny to see a little guy in a highchair throwing back Alaska rolls.
On Saturday, we woke up in the Poconos and I was ready to get outdoors.  The weather was gorgeous with a slight chill in the air, the perfect weather to go check out the farm stand.

My eyes lit up when I saw all of the pumpkins, squash and gourds for sale already.  As much as I would love to buy them all and decorate already, I really want to go to a pumpkin patch and get the whole pumpkin picking experience.
I did purchase some spaghetti squash, which I will be attempting to make this week, for the first time.  Keep your fingers crossed that I don’t screw it up!
We also hit up the supermarket where Munchkin not only got a free cookies at the bakery, he also got a sticker at checkout.  He was one happy camper!
Saturday night was date night! We decided to go to the movies and ended up seeing Drive.  We were going to go to the movie theater that we went to last time, but its like a half hour drive away so instead we decided to go to the Poconos Movieplex.  It was seriously like the strangest movie theater we’d ever been to.  It looked like it was stuck in the 80s and it totally gave us strange vibes, kind of like in movies when outsiders come into the little town.
Luckily, the locals did not turn out to be zombies and we got out of there alive. The movie, however, was so weird.  It has really good reviews online, but both of us were just really confused throughout the movie. There were a lot of awkward pauses and the ending didn’t really make sense.  I don’t recommend it.
After the movies we hit up Red Robin..yum! I had a coupon for a free birthday burger, which you get if you sign up for their newsletter.  I had the Oktoberfest burger which was really good. Its had beer flavored mustard, Swiss cheese, onions and ham on a pretzel bun.  I’ve never had mustard on a burger before, but it definitely works and gives the burger a really yummy flavor.
On Sunday, we hit up the outlets to get some new pieces for our fall wardrobes.  I got my first plaid shirt at J Crew and I can’t wait to wear it.  I think it’ll look great with jeans and boots for fall. Munchkin got new fall sneakers and a raincoat with matching galoshes.
I fell in love with a winter coat for Munchkin, but they didn’t have his size in store.  Thanks to my online shopping skills, Munchkin’s coat will me arriving in 5 to 7 business days!
Now I need to catch up on some homework, I know you’re jealous.
Have a great Monday!
What did you do this weekend?
What’s your fall fashion must have?

So my first final is out of the way and I get to relax today before I jump back into studying tomorrow for the next one.

Since yesterday was Cinco de Mayo, Munchkin and I celebrated with a Mexican lunch.  Since the weather was really nice after the cold and rainy Wednesday, so I decided to take a walk to the supermarket instead of driving like I usually do.

Push faster Mom!

For lunch I made cheese quesadillas and fresh guacamole.  I think munchkin has inherited my love of Mexican food because he gobbled it all up.

After my final, I went out with  couple of friends to relax and wind down after three hours of test-taking.  We went to a Mexican place a few blocks from school, since it was Cinco de Mayo.  I got the yummy margarita that I’d been craving all day.  We also got some appetizers, which were pretty good too.

On my way home there were a lot of people in the subway, New York was celebrating Cinco de Mayo in full force.  When I was walking out of the subway, a girl caught my eye on the stairs.  I’m not one to criticize what others wear, but I legitimately thought she was homeless by what she was wearing.  She had on bright pink leopard leggings, tube socks, combat boots, a lace skirt, a men’s dress shirt and a dark green trench coat over it all.  I was tempted to take a picture of her to post it, but didn’t want to be obvious.

I get that people who consider themselves ‘hipsters’ try to dress differently or whatever, but this was just a little over the top.  I seriously don’t know when dressing a mess became fashionable, but I’m glad I didn’t get that memo.

Question of the Day: What’s your style like? Do you follow trends? If you own pink leopard legging were you offended by my post?

Happy Friday everyone!
